Our team is compelled to create a positive and inclusive space for Bull Terrier enthusiasts to gather, learn and share all things Bull Terrier. This is a place where the mission is to preserve Bull Terriers.
I am Melanie Whitehair and I live the ‘Bull Terrier life’ with my husband Ty. We breed our Bullies under the Sandstone affix.
All of our BT Compass team members are Bull Terrier breeders. As responsible breeders, we strive to produce Bull Terriers that are as close to the written standard as possible. These standards are established by kennel clubs and their breed organizations to serve as a blueprint for breeders and judges to evaluate and assess individual dogs against the ideal representation of their breed. Breeders need to exhibit their animals at conformation shows so that other folks and breeders can see and learn from them.
However, only a small percent of our Bullies end up in the showring and the rest of our pups deserve the very best also! Responsible breeders work hard to produce Bullies that will spend 12+ loving and healthy years with their families. Nothing is more satisfying to a breeder than to see their pups go into a home where they are loved, trained and will live happily ever.
We hope that you love your Bullie and ask that you please don’t ever say any of these things:
“I love my Bullie BUT he is ONLY a rescue.”
“She is JUST a pet”
“We ONLY do performance sports”
“She is NOT GOOD ENOUGH for the show ring”
Let’s not diminish our Bull Terriers by using the words ‘only’, ‘just’ and ‘not good enough’! We share our lives with them by choice and we want to give our Bullies the VERY BEST! Let’s be proud of every one of them and never feel like they are less because they aren’t a ‘show dog!’
