About the Artist

Bull Terrier Compass Artist: Linda Lethin Linda Lethin’s Bull Terrier sculptures are cherished by collectors around the world. Her work has earned top honors at many prestigious events, including the Westminster Kennel Club’s Dog Fancy Award, the National Dog Show, and Best in Show at the Silverwood Arts & Crafts event — the only time she entered. Linda has played a major role in shaping Bull Terrier Club of America (BTCA) trophies. Of all the official BTCA awards, she has either sculpted or reproduced the originals for all but two: the Stud Dog award and the historic Isis Vapo trophy. For more than 40 years, Linda has generously donated her artistic talent to support fundraising for Bull Terrier clubs. One notable example is her bronze sculpture Prodigal Son (a mother with pups), which was auctioned to help launch the BTCA Disaster Relief Fund. Her first donation was in 1981 at the Silverwood event, where she created and gave each banquet guest a handcrafted Bull Terrier head pin. Since then, Linda has contributed to the breed and its community in countless ways, including: Creating centerpieces for BTCA Regional and Silverwood banquets Designing medallions for regional clubs and all Silverwood finalists Donating trophies for several specialty shows, including the 1997 BTCA Centennial Show Donating sculptures for raffles and auctions benefiting Bull Terrier clubs In recognition of her extraordinary dedication and contributions to the breed, Linda is one of only two recipients of both of BTCA’s highest honors: The Bar Sinister Award and the Marilyn Drewes Award — alongside the legendary Mary Jung Wainwright.
