About the Artist

Cynthia Lord-Ruddy Kevin and Cyndy Ruddy have been devoted owners of Bull Terriers for over 40 years. Their journey with these charming dogs began with Wendy, their first Bull Terrier, a daughter of CH Catrana Eyeopener of Aricon. Initially, Cyndy studied in the medical field but, ironically, contracted tonsillitis. This twist propelled her into an intense, rather unusually private, two-year stint studying art at University. The rest of her life was a self-taught adventure! Her natural creativity and love for Bull Terriers have intertwined beautifully. Cindy has channeled her passion into various artistic endeavors, including creating the illustrations for The Bull Terrier Illustrated Standard, published by the Bull Terrier Club of America in 1991. She also designed and sculpted the prestigious Tom Lecki Memorial Trophy, awarded at the Montgomery County Kennel Club Terrier Show, a testament to her artistic talent and love for the breed. Her artistry reaches far beyond Bull Terriers. Cindy's diverse body of work includes professional portraiture, large religious canvases, bronze sculptures, and illustrations for various publications.  Beyond her contributions to the world of Bull Terriers, Cindy's creative talents extend to hybridizing daylilies (Hemerocallis). The Ruddy’s meticulously curated daylily gardens are a true labor of love, showcasing her artistry and dedication to beauty in all its forms. Cindy’s care for her Bull Terriers extends beyond art. A deep interest in natural medicine has enabled her to provide them with the highest level of care. This holistic approach reflects her devotion to their well-being. When not immersed in her art or tending to her beloved dogs and gardens, Cindy might be found on a beach or a field metal detecting, or enjoying the thrill of a horse track—always embracing life’s adventures with curiosity and passion.
